Woman Threatened With Jail Moves ‘Illegal’ Mobile Home

A woman from East Langton threatened with jail has finally moved a mobile home that didn’t have planning permission.

Harborough Council officials had been battling for over four years to get it shifted from Langton View Stables and eventually went to the High Court over the issue.

The owner has moved it just days before the deadline that was set – she’ll have to pay legal costs of nearly £4,000.

Councillor Phil King, Deputy Leader of Harborough District Council with responsibility for planning enforcement, said: “This is a very successful outcome and sends out a strong message that enforcement notices cannot be ignored.”
