Villages Left With No Water Supply

Water supplies are slowly returning to Harborogh villages who were left without water for over 18 hours.
Taps ran dry in Church Langton, Tur Langton and Glooston yesterday afternoon, while other areas have seen reduced water pressure.
Hannah Currington, from Glooston, was one of those affected and spoke to Hfm:
Severn Trent Water says the problem has been caused by unprecedented demand on supplies across the region, with the hot weather and more people spending time at home due to the lock-down.
A burst water main has also been discovered on Mear Road, Tur Langton, which is now being repaired.
Spokesman Jonathan Smith spoke to Hfm:
The company is using tankers to pump thousands of litres of extra water into storage tanks at its base in Knaptoft in a bid to ease the issue and is also urging people not to use hoses, sprinklers or pressure washers as it works to get supplies back to normal.
There have been similar supply problems in other areas of Leicestershire and across the area covered by Severn Trent.
Across the region demand for water has increased by 300 million litres in week.
