Written by on 13th October 2026

Get ready for a frightfully fun family day out this October half term, as Halloween returns to Rockingham Castle!

Running from Wednesday 28th to Saturday 31st October, between 11am and 4pm, the castle’s resident witches and wizards will be welcoming visitors for a spooky seasonal adventure, with plenty of creepy surprises and Halloween fun along the way.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their most ghoulish Halloween outfits before setting off on a carved pumpkin trail through the castle. Solve the creepy crossword as you explore, uncover fascinating history and discover Rockingham at its most spooktacular.

The fun continues in the gardens, where ghoulish games and a terrifying trail await.

You can also join the castle’s gruesome guides beneath the towers, pick your own pumpkin and take part in the pumpkin rolling challenge. Have a go at ‘hitting the witch’ for the chance to win a prize!

When it’s time for a break, head to Walker’s House Tearoom and treat your little monsters to something delicious from the special Shockingham Castle Halloween menu.

With spooky trails, pumpkin challenges, games and tasty treats, there’s something to delight the whole family this half term.
