Teenager Denies Attempted Knife-Point Robbery In Kibworth

A 15-year-old-boy will go on trial accused of an attempted knife-point robbery in Kibworth Beauchamp, in which another teenager suffered cuts.

The boy, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Leicester Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault by beating and one of possessing a knife in a public place.

It follows an incident on February 6th, when a fight broke out between a number of boys on a footpath over the railway line, known as the tin bridge, close to Warwick Park.

The victim, aged 17, was taken to hospital for treatment for lacerations to his thumb and elbow.

The accused boy was released on bail ahead of the trial, with conditions he must not enter Kibworth and abide by a curfew at his home between 7pm and 7am daily.

Magistrates approved an amendment to his curfew conditions, to allow him access to the garden where he lives.
