Students Launch Fundraiser To Host Covid-Safe Prom
Written by HFM News on 4th March 2021
Two Year Eleven students at Robert Smyth Academy have launched a fundraising drive so they can hold a Covid-safe end-of-year Prom.
Martha Burton and Florrie Spies, both aged 15, are hoping to raise £6,000 via the on-line appeal, to cover costs including getting a large open-sided marquee erected on the school field.
They hope the event will take place on July 2nd and need to raise the money, as planned fundraising events for the prom, have not been able to take place during the pandemic.
It’s also hoped the marquee can be used by last year’s Year 11 students, for a reunion, as their Prom had to be cancelled.
