Site Of Planned Transformation Put Up For Sale

The future of a multi-million pound plan to transform a derelict site in Market Harborough is unclear, after it was put up for sale.

Permission was granted in the summer for the redevelopment of part of the former Harborough Rubber Site, on the corner of St Mary’s Road and Kettering Road, which included an impressive four story apartment building and the restoration of the historic flour mill into offices.

Ten town houses fronting the River Welland were also planned.

The developer behind the plan isn’t progressing with it, meaning the land and the mill are now on the market for an undisclosed price.

The land and flour mill are being marketed by local estate agents Andrew Granger & Co.

Head of Residential Sales Peter Buckingham comments: “It’s not often such a prime parcel of land comes up for sale in a town like Market Harborough.

“The existence of planning permission is also a massive bonus for prospective developers. As a site of significance and prominence in the town with close proximity to the train station, we expect demand for property to be high.”
