Rockingham Road Closed Until November 19th

Rockingham Road in Market Harborough has closed today at the railway bridge, for the next eleven days.

It’s so work to strengthen the structure can take place, as part of the upgrade of the railway through town.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the closure.
Buses are replacing all train services from Market Harborough this Saturday and Sunday, as a result of the on-going improvement works.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “Engineers are continue with the Market Harborough Line Speed Improvement Project and will carry out work to the track bed to enable increased train speeds and improved journey times by straightening the line.
Work will also take place to strengthen Rockingham Road bridge, which needs to be strengthened so that it is ready to carry the additional ballast which is required to support the higher line speed.
