Roadshows To Showcase Bus Improvement Plans

Written by on 3rd February 2025

You can find out more about plans to improve rural bus services across Harborough at a series of roadshows starting today.

Leicestershire County Council is hosting the ‘Sustainable Travel Roadshows’ and is keen to share details with passengers and get feedback.

They will offer information about local transport options and plans for services funded by the council.

The first event will take place at Great Glen Village Hall between 1.30pm and 4.30pm today and the second during the Farmer’s Market on The Square in Market Harborough on Thursday, between 10am and 2pm.

The roadshows are taking place across the Harborough area

There will also be a variety of active travel information about local walking, wheeling and cycling initiatives.

Cllr Ozzy O’Shea, lead member for highways and transport at Leicestershire County Council, said: “If you’re about in any of the areas where we are holding these roadshows, do drop by and have a chat with our sustainable travel team.

“This is a unique opportunity to discuss your travel needs and find out more about our plans to improve rural bus services in your area.”

The work is part of a county-wide bus network review, established in the Leicestershire Bus Service Improvement Plan (LBSIP).

The aim is to increase public transport connections and maximise commercial opportunities to deliver a bus network that is fit for the future.

There will be further roadshows at Lutterworth Town Hall on February 10th between 11am and 1pm and at Kibworth Village Hall on February 12th, from 11am til 1pm.
