Record crowds rev up Market Harborough Classic Car Show

An estimated 15,000 people packed Market Harborough on Sunday as one of the town’s biggest annual events returned for another successful year.
More than 350 classic and vintage vehicles lined the town centre streets for the Classic Car Show, with visitors enjoying live music, entertainment, food stalls and the chance to support local independent businesses.
The free event was organised by Harborough Live Events in partnership with Harborough District Council and hosted by HFM.
Chairman of Harborough District Council, Cllr Buddy Anderson (pictured above) , presented the prizes to the owners of the winning vehicles. He said: “This is another hugely popular event that brings out the community and many out-of-town visitors as well. There was a very impressive display and I was, of course, very proud to represent the council and reward some very worthy entries.”
Organisers described the 2026 show as the biggest yet, with a record turnout from both visitors and exhibitors.
Harborough Live Events thanked the volunteers, marshals and sponsors who helped make the event possible, as well as the businesses that opened along the side streets to welcome visitors.
In a statement, organisers said: “What can I say, other than what an absolutely fantastic event. A record turnout not only from the public but from the exhibitors and their vehicles.
“Thank you to everyone who gave their time to make Harborough Car Show 2026 the best show yet, and to everyone who came and supported what has to be one of the best car shows in the East Midlands.”
Plans are already expected to begin for next year’s event following another successful day for the town.
