Railway Work To Cause Noise Disruption Through The Night

Written by on 6th July 2018

People living near the railway in Market Harborough are to face noise disruption through the night on eight consecutive weekends.

Network Rail says loud pile driving will be among the work taking place in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday from later this month until early September.

It’s connected with the line speed improvement project on the Midland Mainline, which will see the track straightened through the railway station, and can only be carried out overnight when trains are not running.

Bosses admit the work will be noisy and cause vibrations.

They’re apologising in advance for the disturbance it will cause and say letters are being sent to homes most likely to be affected.
