Queen Bees Buzzing At Harborough Town FC

The women’s game is thriving at Harborough Town Football Club.

The Queen Bees team was formed in 2020 after interest in the sport was sparked by the success of the England women’s side and next season will enter a competitive league for the first time.

The team was set-up by a small group of mums who shared a vision of creating a space where women of all abilities and ages could come together to enjoy a game of football.

Since then interest has grown from strength to strength and soon the squad be make the leap from friendly matches to competitive play.

Players Louise Clarke and Loreen Herzig were among the founding team members and also coach girls youth football at the club.

Louise told HFM how the success of the team will act as an incentive for younger girls playing football:

The Queen Bees will enter into Division 2 of the Leicestershire league for the upcoming 2024/25 season, under coach Harry Fordham.
