Primary Schools To Be Improved Thanks To Government Cash

Primary schools in and around Market Harborough will see building improvements totalling £1.1m.

The Learn Academies Trust, of which 11 schools are part of, have successfully bid for the money from the government’s Condition Improvement Fund. (CIF)

In Market Harborough heating systems will be upgraded at the C of E Academy, new external doors installed at Meadowdale Primary and fire safety improvements made at Ridgeway Primary Academy.

The money will also fund roof repairs and classroom improvements at Church Langton Primary School, a heating upgrade at St Andrew’s in North Kilworth and new perimeter fencing installed at South Kilworth Primary School.

A new boiler will also be installed at Blaby Stokes Primary C of E Primary School and fire safety upgrades will be carried out at Red Hill Field Primary School in Narborough.

The CIF programme is an annual round of grant funding through which academy schools and colleges can apply for investment in the upkeep and improvement of their buildings and to fund expansion projects for schools that have been rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.
