Police Pledge To Act Over ‘Dangerous’ Parking

Police have pledged to take any action necessary after reports of vehicles being parked dangerously close to a busy Market Harborough junction.
A local resident has catalogued a growing problem with vans and cars parking at the bottom of Brookfield Road – in some cases just yards away from the T-junction with Lubenham Hill – and frequently left there all day.

It is feared the worsening situation could lead to a collision between drivers and cyclists or pedestrians.
Sgt Pete Jelbert of Harborough Police warns they do have powers to remove any vehicles which are causing an obstruction.
He told HFM they usually begin with a ‘softly softly’ approach:
