Planning Meeting To Be Re-Run After Technical Fault

Written by on 5th June 2020

Harborough District Council LogoA Harborough Council planning meeting is to be re-run after a technical fault prevented the public and press from watching it.

It means decisions taken on Tuesday evening, including the go-ahead for 33 new homes on the Bowden Fencing site in Great Bowden, have been voided and will have to be reconsidered.

The ‘virtual’ meeting was held on-line and the Council says it did not satisfy regulations because it was not available for the public view.

The meeting, which also gave the go-ahead for a new all-weather sports pitch at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough, will take place again on June 16th, with additional measures put in place to support the live webcast.

The Council says it sincerely apologises to all affected.
