People Urged To Support ‘Fiver-Fest’

Independent businesses in Market Harborough are joining forces to support a national campaign aimed at encouraging people to shop local.
The fortnight-long ‘Fiver Fest’ launches tomorrow as part of the ‘Totally Locally’ initiative.
It’s estimated if everyone adult in the Harborough District spent an extra £5 a week in independent shops and businesses, instead of online or at big supermarkets, the local economy would be boosted by £17.8m a year.
Harborough Market, the Harbs Collective – which champions independent retailers – and Taste Harborough are all supporting the campaign along with a host of independent businesses, cafes, shops, and market stalls, to showcase special £5 offers available in store.
