Nurses Offered £2,000 To Work At St Luke’s

Written by on 23rd August 2018

Nurses are being offered a £2,000 ‘golden handshake’ to work at St Luke’s Hospital in Market Harborough.

The incentive is being introduced by the NHS to try to reduce the reliance on agency staff, as there hasn’t been a permanent member of nursing staff appointed for more than two years.

One of the wards at the Leicester Road hospital is dedicated to stroke patients – the other mainly to older people with physical health problems, as well as end of life care.

Nurses that take up the offer will get a £500 bonus after six months, with further payments at 18 and 36 months.
