New Harborough Charity Aims To Fight Hygiene Poverty

A recently launched charity in Market Harborough is aiming to tackle the hidden problem of ‘hygiene poverty’ in and around the town.

The Market Harborough Hygiene Bank helps those who are struggling to afford basic cleaning and personal hygiene products and works in a similar way to a Foodbank, relying on donations from members of the public.

The group is part of national network and is using National Hygiene Week to encourage people to support them.

Judy Rowley from the Hygiene Bank spoke to Hfm:

There are donation points at Boots in St Mary’s Place, the Co-Op on Coventry Road and in some surrounding villages, with ‘pop-up’ donation points this week.
