Council Looks To Sell Land Set For Controversial Redevelopment

Harborough District Council is considering selling land which forms part of a controversial redevelopment plan in Market Harborough.

Bungalows in Naseby Square would be demolished if the plan goes ahead

Talks are underway with a view to it being bought by housing association Platform Housing Group, which owns the rest of the site at Naseby Square on the Southern Estate.

Plans to bulldoze a number of bungalows and a block of flats, to make way for 38 new homes, which a number of people have opposed, are expected to be considered later this year.

Meanwhile, land owned by the council in Lutterworth, which is earmarked for over 70 new homes, is also set to be sold off.
