New GPs Recruited At Medical Centre

Market Harborough Medical Centre has recruited new doctors in a bid to deal with a lack of GP appointments and clinic cancellations.

Some have already joined the Coventry Road surgery, while others will do so next month.

A letter sent to patients by Dr Mark Yates, Senior GP Partner, says: “We acknowledge the difficulties that we have had over the last few months with clinics being cancelled, a lack of GP appointments, and staff turnover.

“We also recognised that patients who were registered with Dr Healey have had some inconsistency in having a regular GP who looks after them, therefore these patients have now been reallocated amongst our GP Partners to provide you with consistency and reassurance of a regular GP.

“We have been working hard behind the scenes to recruit new team members and make changes for our Salaried GPs to improve their working day to improve well-being and retention.”

The practice has also recruited two new clinical pharmacists who will start work at the end of this month, to support with medication reviews and long-term conditions.

Dr Yates added: “We ask that you continue to have patience and understanding towards our staff whilst our new starters join us during August and September.

“We will always try our best to help you get the care that you need.”
