Market Harborough Shop Closes Permanently
Written by HFM News on 14th January 2021
The Edinburgh Woollen Mill store in Market Harborough has closed permanently.
It will not reopen after lockdown, with four members of staff losing their jobs.
Despite the national chain being bought out of administration this week, the long-standing shop on The Square is not one of the 240 branches across the country to be saved.
The brand collapsed last year and has been purchased by by Purepay Retail, together with sister business Ponden Homes, but 119 stores across the two firms have been permanently closed, with 485 staff made redundant.
The rescue deal saves almost 1,500 jobs.
Peacocks – one of the group’s other brands – which also has a store in Harborough – remains in administration.
