Man Confronts Masked Armed Robbers

A man has been speaking to Hfm about the terrifying moment he was confronted by three masked burglars – one armed with a knife – who smashed their way into his house in broad daylight, before stealing his high performance car.

The BMW was stolen

Sam Tilney was in an upstairs bedroom when the gang used a large boulder to smash glass in the back door of his house in Burrough Way, Lutterworth, just at 1pm on Sunday.

They took the keys to his white BMW M140, around £400 pounds in cash, his iPhone 7 phone and his FitBit watch before running out of the house and driving off in the car.

Police are appealing for witnesses and for any residential CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time.

Detective Constable James Collins said: “This incident happened on a Sunday afternoon when people are likely to have been out and about in the area.

“Anyone who has any information from the details above is urged to make contact with us.

One of the men is white, slim and approximately 5ft 9ins. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. His face was covered.

The second suspect is black, slim and approximately 5ft 9ins. He was wearing a navy hooded and navy tracksuit bottoms. His face was covered.

The third man is white and was wearing black clothing. He was reported to be carrying a knife.
