Man Captured After Two Months On-The-Run

A man jailed for causing the death of his girlfriend in a crash near Market Harborough has been captured after spending nearly two months on the run.
Steven Gaskell was arrested in Sheffield in South Yorkshire on Saturday after he absconded from open prison HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire on June 19th.

A nationwide hunt was launched for the 32-year-old, who is serving a sentence of just over five years for causing death by driving whilst disqualified, after Courtney Donnelly from Corby died in a crash on the A427 in Brampton Ash in September 2023.
The 23-year-old was a passenger is a Mini car that left the road and came to rest in a field.
It has not been revealed which prison Gaskell has been returned to.
