Man Arrested & Machete & Knife Recovered

A man was arrested and a machete and knife recovered after Police were called to a ‘public order incident’ in Market Harborough.

Officers attended Pear Tree Gardens just after 9.30am on Sunday and later searched a section of the River Welland, where the knife was pulled from the water.

The 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage, affray, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
