Man Admits Engaging In Sexual Communication With Child

A Market Harborough man has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child.
Paul Cockerill, 63, of Thornborough Close, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday following an incident in Market Harborough town centre on Friday afternoon.

The court heard Cockerill was arrested on The Square
The court heard Cockerill was arrested on The Square after approaching a young girl, telling her she was attractive, and asking to kiss her.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in sexual communication with a child under 16.
Magistrates remanded Cockerill into custody.
He is scheduled to appear back in court next month for sentencing.
