Leisure Centre Boiler To Be Replaced
Written by HFM News on 10th September 2019
The aging boiler system at Harborough Leisure Centre is to be replaced after problems with the temperature of the water in the swimming pool and showers.
Operator Everyone Active says it has acted quickly to deal with the situation and the new equipment is set to be installed tomorrow.
In the meantime the pool has been closed this afternoon, as it has been covered in a bit to preserve the temperature, with the hope it will re-open later for swimming lessons and sessions.
Dan Hicks, Area Contract Manager for Everyone Active, said: “Unfortunately, we inherited a very old boiler system at Harborough Leisure Centre and have experienced some technical issues with it this week. We have acted quickly to source a boiler replacement which is due to be installed tomorrow (Wednesday 11th September), after which the pool and shower temperatures will return to normal.
“We hope to re-open the pools for this afternoon’s swimming lessons and the swim sessions this evening. However, we will be continually assessing the situation and advise customers to check our Facebook page for the latest updates or call the centre directly on 01858 410115.
“All other areas of the centre remain open as normal. We’d like to thank customers for their understanding and patience and please be assured we are acting as quickly as possible to rectify the issue with minimal disruption.”
