Improvements To Be Made To Car Park Prone To Flooding

Improvements are to be made to a car park in Market Harborough which is prone to flooding.
New signage with clear warnings will be erected at the site off Rockingham Road and river level sensor technology is set to be installed, to provide an early warning of flood situations.

Cars have been left submerged on a number of occasions during periods of prolonged rainfall, as the car park is adjacent to where the Rivers Welland and Jordan meet.
Hazelton Group, who own the site opposite the railway station, will also install CCTV and ANPR technology as part of the upgrade, which is due to begin shortly.

Payment machines and signs have been removed from the site in preparation for the work.
