Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Lorry Overturns

A man is being treated in hospital after a lorry overturned near Lamport yesterday afternoon.
The 29-year-old driver was freed from the cab by fire crews, before being taken to University Hospital Coventry by Air Ambulance.
Emergency services were called to Rothwell Road at 2.10pm, after the Scania HGV left the road and ended up on its side.
Fire crews from Mereway, Rothwell and The Mounts attended the incident and used an LGV platform, a ProMove sling and cutting equipment to get the driver out of the vehicle.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said : “The casualty was initially assessed by the fire service and had suffered a head injury and was experiencing neck and abdominal pain.”
Northamptonshire Police say the man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
No other vehicles were involved.
