Conservatives Win Harborough By-Election

The Conservatives have won a by-election in the Logan Ward of Market Harborough.

Paul Bremner is the new councillor for the area after securing victory at yesterday’s poll with 410 votes, 55 more than the Liberal Democrats, who came second.

The Tories, who are the opposition group on Harborough District Council, gained the seat from the Lib Dems.

The result means the party now has 16 councillor seats, the same number as the ruling Coalition administration.

The Green Party came third, followed by Reform UK and Labour.

The by-election was triggered by the death of long-serving Lib Dem councillor Barbara Johnson in April.
