‘Harder Than Ever’ To Park At Market Harborough Railway Station

People say it’s now harder than ever to get a car parking space at Market Harborough Railway Station.

Despite a new 300-space car park opening in June, it is regular full by nine am on weekdays.

Paula Drayton from Market Harborough told Hfm: “It’s impossible to park if you arrive anytime after 9am.  It’s worse than when the old car park was in use.”

A further 200 spaces will be added once line straightening work is complete – although that won’t be for another 18 months at least.

Network Rail says although the current number of spaces is roughly the same as the old car park, that one didn’t have marked bays, so more vehicles may have been able to squeeze in.
