Harborough Mum Confronts Van Thief

Written by on 19th October 2018

A homeowner’s confronted a thief breaking into a builder’s van in broad daylight on the Farndon Fields Estate in Market Harborough.

It happened at about 1.30pm yesterday on Angell Drive, when Jenny Taylor ran out of her house after noticing a man drilling into the lock.

She told Hfm she didn’t think about her own safety:

The incident was caught on camera by her house Ring Doorbell System, which picked up the sound of the drill and her challenging him.

It shows the thief casually walking away and getting into a black car which drove off along Burton Street.

Police are appealing for sightings of the car in the area around the time – anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 312 of October 18th.

A number of  vans have been targeted by thieves in the past few weeks who have stolen tools, mainly at night, although some have been targeted on building sites during the day.
