Harborough District Local Plan

Harborough District Council says it’s taken a “major step forward” in
helping to make sure the right development happens in the right place
across the Harborough District.

Following the adoption of its Local Plan in April this year, the latest
data shows that Harborough District Council has a current housing land
supply of seven years – that’s two MORE years than the minimum required
under national government planning policy.

Council leader Phil King says this puts HDC in a strong position – and
gives it more control in helping to make sure development happens in the
most suitable locations.

Local authorities that fail to meet this target, risk housing being
imposed upon them at sites which may fall outside those agreed in
approved planning policy documents.

More details about the five year housing land supply can be found on
Harborough District Council’s website.
