Murder Investigation Launched In Market Harborough

Police have launched a murder investigation and arrested a man following the death of a woman in Market Harborough last year.

The 71-year-old is being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder, after the body of a woman, aged 70, was found in the back garden of her home in Shelland Close on the Ashley Way estate on August 12^th 2019.

Paramedics attended, but despite efforts to revive her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is a large presence at the house today, including forensic teams and a specialist sniffer dog.

Senior Investigating officer Detective Inspector Nicole Main said: “Specialist officers have been deployed to support the family at this time and we are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the enquiry.”
