GP Practices Given Go-Ahead To Merge
Written by HFM News on 13th November 2018
The merger of two GP practices has been given the go-ahead by local NHS bosses.
It will see the Two Shires Medical Practice – with bases in Market Harborough and Kibworth join forces with Kibworth Medical Centre from April next year.

Doctors say the move will increase patient choice, provide additional services and extended treatment hours, although some who responded to consultation are concerned it will be harder to see a GP and they may have to travel to other surgeries to get an appointment.
Only 923 people of the 26,000 patients responded to a consultation on the plan – of which 72% were in favour of a merger.
Both practices currently have surgeries in Kibworth and Fleckney – in the future they could move to single sites.
