Go-Ahead For Former Army Cadet Base to Become Offices

A former Army Cadet Force base in Market Harborough is set to be given a new lease of life after plans to convert it into office space were approved.

The disused building, in Yeomanry Court off Coventry Road, had previously been earmarked for demolition to make way for five new homes, but that application was withdrawn before a revised scheme was submitted.

The building had previously been earmarked for demolition

The new proposal, put forward by Stylish Living, will retain the existing building and convert it into office accommodation, bringing the vacant site back into use while preserving the former military structure.

Planning documents said the conversion would provide a sustainable new use for the building without the need for demolition, making use of an established site within the town.

Harborough District Council approved the revised plans, meaning the building will now be retained and repurposed rather than demolished for housing.
