Firefighters Alerted After Large Smoke Plume

Firefighters were alerted after residents spotted a large plume of black smoke in Market Harborough.

999 calls were made to Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service on Saturday evening.

A spokesperson for LFRS told HFM: “Our crew from Kibworth Fire Station attended a property on Leicester Road on Saturday evening following reports of black smoke, to find a large bonfire.

“Advise was given to the property owner and the bonfire was dampened down by a hose reel jet.”
