Written by HFM News on 19th October 2020
Police are stepping up the hunt for an arsonist who has targeted four local farms in a month.
Thousands of bales of straw have been destroyed in the blazes, all started deliberately in barns or at the edge of fields.
The latest happened in Cranoe in the early hours of Saturday, which followed fires in Little Oxendon, Weston by Welland and West Langton in the past few weeks.

Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Police are now working jointly on the investigation – with the blazes taking place either side of the county borders, with one also being started off the A43 at Hannington in Northamptonshire.
Officers believe the same person is responsible for all the fires, which have all been started late at night or during the early hours, and patrols have been upped in rural areas.
They are urging anyone with information about how is responsible to contact them.
