A driver was caught speeding at 66mph on the first day of new Police checks in Braybrooke.

They were travelling at more than twice the 30mph limit on Harborough Road in the village when clocked by Northamptonshire Police’s Safer Roads Team, who have branded the speed ‘unacceptable.’

Sixteen other drivers will also be reported for exceeding the limit yesterday, including one who was travelling at 52mph.

The area has been added to locations visited by the Police safety camera van, following complaints from villagers about speeding drivers.
