Dog Rescued After Fire At House In Market Harborough
Written by HFM News on 13th January 2021
Firefighters rescued a pet dog after a blaze broke out in the kitchen of a house in Market Harborough last night.
Crews were called to Bath Street just after 11.30pm and used breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, that involved a chip pan that had been left on a hob.
No-one was injured, as the occupants had managed to get out, and firefighters used a special pet oxygen mask on the dog, described as a small terrier, as it had inhaled smoke.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service say crews from Market Harborough, Kibworth and Wigston were sent to the incident, which left the kitchen of the house damaged and smoke damage to the rest of the property.
A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to assist in clearing smoke.
