A special film screening and discussion event is taking place in Market Harborough tonight, focusing on climate change and nature recovery.
The People’s Emergency Briefing will be shown at the Octagonal Hall of Our Lady of Victories Church from 7.15pm as part of a nationwide campaign calling for action on environmental issues.
The film features broadcaster and campaigner Chris Packham and has been adapted from the National Emergency Briefing on the Climate and Nature Crisis, first presented in Westminster in November 2025.
It forms part of a growing grassroots movement across the UK and explores how environmental breakdown can impact health, food systems, infrastructure, security and the economy, while also outlining practical solutions for governments, organisations and communities.
Sarah van der Walt from Sustainable Harborough Community says everyone is welcome:

The film is presented by Chris Packham featuring some well known people like Jennifer Saunders Pic: People’s Emergency Briefing
There will also be a briefing in Lutterworth on Thursday 25th June at the Pavilion on the Green on Coventry Road.
Organisers are asking people to book a place in advance HERE so they can anticipate numbers and plan further events if needed.
The event is suitable for ages 16 and over.
