Boys Threatened With Knife While Fishing in Market Harborough

Two young boys were left shaken after being threatened with a knife while fishing in Market Harborough.

The attempted robbery happened at 6.20pm yesterday on the canal towpath near the cut-through to Logan Crescent.

A teenager, believed to be around 16 years old, is said to have searched through their fishing gear before producing a flick knife and demanding their mobile phones.

The boys, aged 11 and 13 were not injured and nothing was stolen, but they were left shaken and the incident has been reported to police.

A warning has also been shared urging parents to speak to their children about safety in the area, particularly around the canal towpath, and to remain vigilant while out.
