Construction has begun on the major expansion of a business park in Market Harborough – which is expected to create more than 200 jobs.

Leicestershire County Council is spending £5.2m on the development, on land at Airfield Business Park, adjacent to the Harborough Innovation Centre off Leicester Road, which will offer a range of industrial units, warehouses and offices once complete.

Council cabinet member Blake Pain spoke to Hfm’s Nick Shaw at a ground-breaking ceremony at the site:

Construction company J Tomlinson has been selected to build it, with the first phase of industrial units and warehouses – set to be up by November.

The Council made the investment from its capital programme, which is funded by proceeds of land and building sales, and government grants.
