Bid To Reduce Energy Bills

A new initiative could save residents across Harborough up to £200 a year on their energy bills.
Harborough Council’s ‘Collective Switching’ scheme will see suppliers bidding against each to provide the lowest tariffs on a group basis.
The more people that sign up, the better the deal is likely to be.
Councillor Jonathan Bateman, portfolio holder for Environment and Regulatory Services, said: “We know that some residents are often daunted or confused by the idea of how to switch energy providers. But, as part of this new scheme, the Council will guide residents through the process as a group and potentially find a cheaper tariff to help them make significant savings to their household fuel bills.”
More details about the scheme will be released in the coming weeks.
