Arts Fresco Moves On-Line Due To Pandemic

Written by on 3rd September 2020

Market Harborough’s Arts Freso event will take place on-line this year because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The popular street arts festival usually attracts around 10,000 people to the town centre and organisers say because of Covid-19 restrictions, they have taken the decision to hold a ‘virtual’ festival instead on Sunday, September 13th.

A selection of fun and whacky performances, which will be pre-recorded around the town beforehand, will be broadcast on You Tube throughout the day.

Neil Kitson, Chair of the organising committee of Arts Fresco told Hfm: “Arts Fresco is a truly inspiring event that traditionally brings around 10,000 people to the streets of Market Harborough to enjoy some of the best street theatre acts from across the UK and Europe.

“Given the current Covid-19 restrictions and in the interests of community safety, we’re bringing the event online this year to give people a flavour of what to look forward to when it’s safe enough for the festival to return to the streets of the town in 2021,” he added.
