Amazing Response To Toys On Table Appeal

Written by on 23rd December 2020

Over 3,000 toys and gifts have been donated in Market Harborough for this year’s Hfm-backed Toys On The Table Appeal.

Organisers are overwhelmed by the response, which has contributed towards the total of around 10,000 donations across Leicestershire.

4,400 disadvantaged children across Leicestershire will benefit, including in the Harborough District, with all getting at least two presents on Christmas Day, when they otherwise would not get anything.

900 more youngsters have been referred to the appeal compared to last year, with the pandemic affecting more family’s finances.

Bill Bowley is vice-chairman of Toys on The Table and spoke to Hfm:

On behalf of the children who will benefit from the appeal, Hfm would like to thanks all who have donated to the appeal this year & Harborough Market and Harborough District Council for their support, and the use of the Market Hall for the drop-off point.

Toys can still be donated until 3pm tomorrow (Christmas Eve)
