Villagers Fight Back Against Lead Thieves

A Heritage Lottery grant of just £97,000 will help a historic village church fight back against lead thieves.
The future of St Peter’s Church in Church Langton was threatened when large amounts of lead were stripped from the roof three times in three months last year.
The grant, together with £27,000 raised by villagers, will go towards installing a theft-proof steel roof.
A project called ‘Saving and Celebrating our Heritage’ will also be launched, aimed at getting more of the community involved with the Church.
