Generous people in Market Harborough have donated more than £700 to help people affected by devastating floods in Nepal.
The money was raised by the Rotary Club of Market Harborough during a collection in the town on Saturday.
Eleven collectors were out in the town, including outside Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. Collection tins were also available at Louisa’s Place, St Dionysius Church, Just So Italian restaurant and the Himahemp stall at Harborough Market.

The money raised is enough to provide two emergency ShelterBoxes for people affected by the floods.
ShelterBox is already working on the ground in Nepal, providing emergency supplies including tents, water purification tablets, bedding and tools to people who have been made homeless.
Rotary Club president Christine Pierce said: “The cataclysmic events in Nepal shocked us into action. What could we do?
“Fortunately, there was an obvious answer: support ShelterBox which is already there on the ground, distributing tents, equipment, water purification tablets, bedding, tools, whatever is needed, to those who have been made homeless.
“Thank you to the generous people of Market Harborough who contributed over £700 to our appeal and enabled us to help with that relief work.”
ShelterBox was created by a Rotarian and has been providing emergency shelter and support to communities affected by disasters for more than 25 years.
