RSPCA Appeal After Cat Put In Wheelie Bin

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a man was seen putting a cat into a wheelie bin in Rothwell.
Doorbell camera footage shared on social media appears to show a man placing the animal into a bin in Goldcrest Way, which was already nearly full.
The lid was partially open, meaning the cat was able to escape.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “We haven’t received any reports relating to this incident, but it’s always upsetting to hear reports of a defenceless cat being treated in such a way.
“We’re relieved that the cat was able to escape.
“Putting an animal in a bin is completely inexcusable and could have resulted in the cat becoming trapped and seriously injured.
“Anyone who has first-hand information about this incident, or knows where the cat is now, should report it to us on 0300 1234 999.”
