Man Admits Burglaries at Market Harborough Shops

A man has admitted carrying out a series of smash-and-grab raids at shops in Market Harborough town centre.
Damion Maloney pleaded guilty to stealing cash and a laptop from Lilybelle Beauty and Nails on St Mary’s Road, and items from clothing store Bebooted in Church Square, early on June 4th.
He had previously denied the break-ins but has now admitted the offences.
Maloney had already pleaded guilty to stealing cash from the Windowsill houseplant shop on Roman Way the week before.

The break-ins involved glass doors being smashed to gain entry, with CCTV capturing some of the raids.
The 48-year-old from Glenfrith Close, Glenfield, also admitted stealing bottles of drink from the Silver Street Café in Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31st.
Maloney appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court after a warrant was issued for his arrest last week when he failed to attend court.
He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing at Leicester Crown Court later this month.
