Rothwell community rallies round family after devastating house fire

A Rothwell family left homeless after a major house fire is receiving an outpouring of support from people, businesses and charities across the area.

The blaze broke out at a property on Horse Fair Lane shortly 12.15am on Thursday, leaving two adults and four teenage children without their possessions and unable to return home.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical fault.

Four crews and an aerial appliance attended the three-storey property, where flames spread through two upper floors and into the loft.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus battled the blaze throughout the night, bringing it under control shortly before 8am.

Since then, offers of help have been made by local residents, businesses and charities, with practical and financial support being offered to the family as they begin to rebuild their lives.

A GoFundMe appeal has also been set up, with donations passing £1,000 within two days.

The family are now facing the difficult task of finding somewhere to live and replacing clothes, personal belongings and other essentials lost in the fire.

The rapid response from the Rothwell community has provided much-needed support following what has been described as a devastating loss for the family.
