Six-year-old’s idea becomes district-wide photo competition

A six-year-old from Market Harborough is encouraging young people to get outdoors this summer by launching a photography competition.

Ezra, a pupil at Market Harborough C of E Academy, came up with the idea after discovering a love of taking pictures while exploring the countryside with his family.

With help from his dad, Josh, he has created the Natural Harborough Photography Competition to inspire other young people to do the same:

The competition is open to anyone under the age of 18 and runs throughout the summer holidays, closing at midnight on 25 August.

Young photographers can submit images of wildlife, landscapes and nature from across the Harborough district, with prizes up for grabs and the chance to have their work displayed at a public exhibition.

The exhibition and prizegiving ceremony, which will also include a People’s Choice Award, will take place at Louisa’s Place in Market Harborougon Sunday 13 September.
